First month of TTC

Well this is our first full fledged month of TTC. I went off BCP right before April. We got married April 7th. I've been on it for well my kiddo is 7 so since she was born LOL. It's been a long time.
So far I have read all the tips for TTC. I've got on websites and downloaded apps. I actually have two on my phone and I use both. I have a Droid. I'm using Get Baby and My Period Calendar. Both have features I like. I've have been cutting back on caffeine which really really is NOT fun. I'm about to have a melt down today....Starbucks is calling my NAME! I have been drinking a cup of green tea a day but lets face it's NOT the same. And I live in TX it's HOT I need a cold Frappe people with caramel and extra coffee! I also bought the strips to tell you if your ovulating. But I'm pretty sure I KNOW when I do. It hurts I feel sharp pains on my right side ovary and it's on the day I should be ovulating, it's happened ever since I got off of BCP. So anyways next week we shall see what happens! I'll keep you updated. I was feeling really weird on Friday the day that my calendar says if I did get lucky that the egg would implant. Now call me crazy but I felt uncomfortable pulling and tingling my right ovary. My SIL says if you can feel ovulation you can probably feel implantation. P.S. I felt these weird pains BEFORE I read about the whole implanting thing LOL so I don't think I psyched myself out but who knows what it really was. IDK according to other woman it's true you can feel implantation, they have felt it. I marked it in my calendar so we will see how true it is next week LOL.
As of right now I have a migraine from no caffeine and a tired 7 yr old who just got back from swimming lessons. She's suppose to be changing her clothes but from the lack of whining coming from upstairs she may have passed out on her bed. I should go check..... And let me tell you next month is going to be HARD HARD HARD on this momma :-(. I am dreading this Friday at 6:00. OK off to Walgreen's. We are going to go print pictures to make a picture book for her to take with her to her dad's.....tear....

XOXO,
Jess

DIY Garden Markers

I finally went out in the TX heat and hammered in our DIY garden markers while my daughter and her friend are having a water fight. At least I kept a little cool when I got caught by the water guns cross fire LOL!  Here is our project

Supplies:
A garden to start with ;-)
Free paint stick stirs, grab some at your local Home Depot in the paint section
Paint, I used colors from our wide selection of sample house paints we have
Paint brushes to paint the sticks
Pencil to stencil on the letters
Small paint brushes to paint in the letters
Hammer to hammer your projects into the ground

So after I picked up 10 paint stir sticks from Home Depot we picked paints we wanted to use from my garage supply ;-). We got to painting....

After they are dry I free hand stenciled the letters on each of them then we painted the letters.

And here are a few of our garden markers in our garden! WA-LA!

My daughter and her friend helped me with uhhhh maybe 3 then retreated back to their water turned mud fight

XOXO,
Jess

Father's Day present!

Holy Moly I just realized I'm BEHIND! Having my Lil Miss home for the summer really gets me side tracked ;-). We have had swimming lessons the past week and preparing for her to go to her dad's for a month for the very first time. This is going to KILLLLLLLLLLLLLLL me inside. I've never been more then a week away from her. WTH am I going to do with myself?! Guess I could have time to get more work done and start actually making all my sewing projects I keep saying I'm going to do. WHHHHHHAHHHHHHHHHH this is going to really really suck.... And on top of that as strong as I'm trying to stay my Lil Miss is so distraught about leaving for that long. Uhhhh...OK anyways we are trying to stay focused and check off as many of our "Summer To Do" activities as possible. Saw Brave Friday. GREAT mommy daughter movie! Loved it!

Anywho here is part of our Father's day gift for my hubby. He wanted some fishing tennis shoes IDK not very exciting LOL so I had to of course make him something too. We gave him the "Dad" we made at Fire It Up Ceramics on our mommy daughter trip. And then I found an old Father's Day picture frame I had and decided to spice it up and added a picture of our first family beach trip of my hubby & our kids :-)

See regular frame...

I took the original blue and black backing out. And added my owe scrap book card stock. Then I got out my giant bag of buttons and hot glue gun and WA-LA!

A lil ribbon..... ;-)

XOXO,
Jess

Amici Bello: Our Mommy Daughter Vacation Day 3 Port Aransas TX

Day 3- First thing in the morning we took a trip over to Leonabelle Turnbull Birding Center http://www.cityofportaransas.org/Leonabelle_Turnbull_Birding_Center.cfm . This place is very easy to get too and again FREE just like all of our adventures this week. You start by walking through pretty plants and flowers all labeled. Then you come up to a long bridge and this is where our adventure STOPPED LOL because my daughter figured out that on top of the flowers and birds this place also has alligators. Too bad for me cause I REALLY wanted to spot one LOL.

After my daughter's extreme OH NO YOU DIDN'T TAKE ME SOME WHERE WITH ALLIGATORS! LOL we stopped and ate at our fav breakfast spot and took our picture with the sand castles. Avery's kitchen has great food and always has the best sand castle in front.

Of course we had to stop and take a picture in the shark AND say hello to our favorite Island Monkey April! $10 and April will take a lovely picture with you ;-). BTW my picture I uploaded is a picture of a picture so disregard the position of this one.

And last but not least we ended our last night at the South Jetty. We spotted turtles, Dolphins, birds. Apparently these animals are on the "OK" list to look for per my daughter. ;-) Walked the beach and found a star fish! Again FREE! It's very easy to find. Go out to where you went to the Univ. of Marine Science. Instead of turning where the Stripes store is go straight and follow it alllll the way to the beach and look to your left you will see the Jetty. Have fun! This is also a great place to fish or to sit on the rocks with your hunny and watch the sun set.

Our Mommy Daughter Vacation Day 2 Port Aransas TX

Day 2- We made a trip to The University of Texas Marine Science Institute http://www.utmsi.utexas.edu/ is the main website. If you are on N. Alister which is one of the main roads with all of the shops go away from town until it ends then turn right. Go to the stop sign at North Station Street and take a left. Turn Right at the second street and go through the neighborhood until you get there. They have tours at 10:00 on Wednesdays. Otherwise you can just walk into the Visitors center and check it out. They have some interesting exhibits and a nice little gift shop :-). We got matching shirts HA! AND it's Free!

Now after our little adventure at The University of Texas Marine Science Institute we took a detour on our way back to one of the piers. Very easy to get to and free. You can fish off of it or just take in the view and make friends with pelicans LOL. When your leaving, as your coming out of the neighborhood on Channel View turn left onto N. Station and go straight. You should run right into it. It on the side of the hotel.

Then we went and got ready for a trip for the beach ;-)
