Re furbished vanity chair
Update on my refurbished vanity chair! Just got to go pick out the fabric to re cover it and it will be done WHOO HOO! Here's what I've done do far. I will show the finished product by Monday hopefully.
I took all the seat and back off and then spray painted it silver so far ;-).
If you can tell in the sun light. It was old and white
And now it's a shiny silver. LOVE

DIY no sew Burlap curtains
Hellllo! Well I wanted to show everyone how I made my Burlap curtains! It's super easy and a great way to brighten up a dark painted room. Our living room is very large and bright so I painted it a darker color. This Burlap I chose looks great if I don't say so myself ;-).
First of all when you go to your local fabric store, I use Joann's there are a TON of different choices for Burlap. So try to get all you need at one time off the same spool so it's the same color.
Supplies:
Burlap
Curtain rod clips (to hold up your curtain)
Stitch Witchery
Iron
Scissors
Wet wash cloth
What you need to do is measure how long you want your curtains then add at least an inch for a seem. Now take your Burlap and lay it on the ground. Choose the end you want to hang your curtain from. Hannah Montana the cat approves this side of my cut.
Now plug in your iron and while it's getting heated up wet your wash cloth. Make sure to set your iron on Wool. And make sure to laugh at your kitty when she gets to close to the iron...I swear they are worse then kids. I kid I kid ;-)
OK now it's time to use the awesome Stitch Witchery!!! Instead of sewing Burlap use this to stick the burlap fold down. (I would totally screw my sewing machine up if I tried sewing it LOL) You can get it just about anywhere. I have even seen it at HEB and the Dollar Store. Your going to lay it down all the way across the top of your curtain about an inch down. Then you will start folding over your burlap placing your wet washcloth over and then your iron over the wash cloth. Do not iron straight onto the Burlap. You will do it iron length by iron length until you are done. You'll probably need to re wet your washcloth at least once.
Jazzy is cautiously watching me and wondering what the HECK am I doing!
When your done your fold should be secured and curtain should be ready to hang!
I put my rings into my curtain rod first then spaced them out. Get the ones with the clips attached to the rings. I got mine on clearance at JCP for $2 a package!
I have two tips for you: #1 If you have cats kick them out for a little bit while doing this. apparently cats love Burlap. Or maybe my cats are just a pain in my behind ;-). And #2 when you are ironing and moving to the next spot. Be careful not to pick up the washcloth and let it land on your leg. OUCH!!!! It will be scalding! I have a lovely red mark on my calf as we speak.
Special thank you to Hannah and Jazzy for "supervising" this project

Picture day Bow!
OK now ladies I was totally multi tasking as I made this bow and FORGOT to take some pictures LOL. but I wanted to share my last minute boutique style bow I made to match my daughter's dress for picture day today.
Supplies:
Scissors
Lighter
Cutting mat
Straight pin
Needle and thread (I use Quilting thread for my bows)
1 1/2 inch ribbon
coordinating ribbon for center
3/8 ribbon for lining the clip
Alligator hair clip
Hot glue gun and glue sticks
So first cut 28 inches of 1 1/2 inch ribbon
On one end cut an angle and make sure to heat seal it
DISCLAIMER ;-)- OK now DESPITE the next few pictures, if your ribbon has print on it lay it with the print side DOWN LOL. As you can see I realized I focusing on taking pictures and not on making my bow and I flipped the ribbon around ;-). HAHA I still forgot to take pictures
So anywho go ahead and lay that pretty ribbon down and fold over the cut side to 4 inches.
Now fold the other side over at 6 inches....oh hey look I think this is the point I figured out I needed to flip my ribbon ;-)
Now lift up your folds holding tight and tuck the long end under
Before the next step go ahead and prep your thread. Cut a long enough piece to wrap around the center of your bow. Knot it a few times at the end and thread your needle. Easy-peasy
Now carefully pull out your bow loops to make it look like a bow.Keep the pin in it to hold the layers together for you
Now HOLD tight to the center, take your pin out and put it in your pin cushion so your kitty doesn't steel it off the table. Start pinching the center of you bow like so....
Stick your needle through the center going through all your gathers you made with your fingers. Then TIGHTLY wrap the thread around the bow until you feel satisfied. And knot it in the back of the bow. I use quilting thread because it's stronger.
Now cut the last end at a slant and heat seal!
Ah-hem exscuse me for forgetting the next few steps in my pics ;-) but uhhh you will now need to pick your ribbon for your center. I chose a satin black 5/8 ribbon. Make a bow knot. Line your alligator clip with 3/8 grosgrain ribbon and heat seal the ends. Hot glue your bow to your clip then secure your not in place, wrap the ends under the top of the alligator clip, hot glue, clip ends, heat seal. PHEEWWW that seems like a lot but it's simple promise. After it's made spray your stiffener to make it nice and stiff and not floppy.
And now put that puuurty bow on your daughter's head to match her outfit picture day! WA-LA!
I didn't get an up close and personal until after school and it had taken a ride in her backpack...get your stiffing spray out and puff that baby back out ;-)
Can't wait to see everyone's school pictures when they come out!
XOXO,
Jess

I have lost count what month this is? LOL
HOLY MOLY it's almost 6 months of being married! Time flies! So what I'm thinking it I am going to do a little something special for my hunny on our 1/2 year wedding anniversary. It's been a rough half year with other things going on in life. Next month he has a big day coming up just a few days before the "actual" 6 month mark LOL. So I think it will be perfect timing. Now I know he will think it's TOTALLY corny and I do not expect him to do anything for me but it will be funny and sweet and hey love and laughs is what makes a marriage last right??? ;-)
Here are some Pinterest ideas I have. I'll have to keep you updated on what I deiced to do. Lemme know if you have any suggestions!
OK since he LOVES his sweets I could make him a cake with fun wording on it for 6 months
http://pinterest.com/pin/18788523415979510/
HAHA here's a good one! I could re enact our home made photo booth from our wedding! And take a pic of me holding a chalkboard sign with a message then make a card with the pic!
http://pinterest.com/pin/171277592048848809/
OR I could just finally print out all of the photo booth pictures LOL make an album and have a date night with him to look through them ;-). I could make the cover the special re enactment pic of me. Cause I know I never made it to the photo booth. Booo!
Feel free to share your ideas!

Barbie got a hot pink new dress & Teddy got a shirt
Well I Have been messing around with a baby doll dress that well ummmm yah I need more practice LOL! BUT as I was cleaning up the never ending Barbie doll world going on in the playroom I said HEY that naked Barbie could use a new dress! So here is my first attempt. It was very little fabric, super easy & I plan to elaborate on more outfits very soon. I'll post a tutorial on my next Barbie outfit.
I was totally winging it today along with a teddy bear shirt I made today. I Have to admit I WAS making this top for Twinkle the Build a Bear. I layed out one of her shirts & added seem allowance but I swear she gained weight over the weekend ;-) . Note to self- go ahead and made teddy bear clothes with a Velcro back.
